Are We Entering The New Dark Ages?

Europe is crumbling. All over the continent economies are collapsing and governments are dissolving into chaos. Protests and riots are erupting daily and the sparks of revolution threaten to set the entire continent ablaze. The people are lashing back at tyrannical governments and the whole world is watching. Or is it?
In this country the mainstream media has pretty much glossed right over what is potentially the biggest event in recent world history. I believe the reasoning behind this is obvious. First, "they" don't want us to get any ideas. The mob mentality is extremely influential and seeing these powerful images on a daily basis, which is exactly what's happening in Europe, can begin to give people the hope/courage to believe that they can collectively make a difference. The truth is, real massive, sweeping social change has always come through some form of violence. So hiding the fact that average citizens are successfully standing defiant in the path of powerful governments is of the utmost importance. The second reason why we're not seeing these reports on a nightly basis is even more sinister than the first, they know that we really don't care.
American's have become the softest people on the face of the earth. What happened to conviction, passion, and loyalty? The only people who really seem to give a shit about the future of this country are these crazy Tea Party maniacs! Look at the faces in this video. Those are students! What are our college students doing while their future is being sold for oil and Afghan poppy fields? Their too busy feeding their gluttony. Where is the outrage? We're lapping up what's being offered as appeasement and allowing our need for constant stimulation to blind us from the fact that we are entering an era of extreme upheaval. It's starting to get really ugly.
I hate to be the party pooper, but the truth is the truth. If you're one of those people who believes that "things will straighten themselves out", you are sadly mistaken. You have forgotten one of the foundations of our government, that The People hold the greatest responsibility in terms of steering the course of society. I'm well aware of how overwhelming things appear, this world is in complete turmoil, but as long as there are people who are not afraid to say "no", people who don't just question and complain about irresponsible government tactics but determine to do something, anything about it, we still have a chance to turn things around. Think about it this is YOUR life and what is happening in Europe right now is people are taking their back from the creepy clutches of self obsessed megalomaniacs. Don't be one of those weak individuals who throws their hands up in resignation. Does your life hold that little value?
